HOW DOES IT ALL WORK?

Actinides

Particles are the smallest thing on earth. They have either: a positive (+), -negative (-), OR neutral (0) charge.

ATOMS

Actinides

Particles make up an atoms. The center is called a nucleus, made of positive (+) & neutral(0) particles. Negative (-) particles float around in orbits.

PERIODIC TABLE

Actinides

The periodic table is a chart which contains all known Atoms. One way of sorting through it, are Valence groups.

Noble Gases

NOBLE GASES

These atoms have little tendency to participate (unlike Actinides). Gases such as radon are used in radiotherapy. Purple is the colour of Kings & Queens: Nobility.
Halogens

HALOGENS

These atoms are darker as you read down the group. Fluorine is pale yellow. Chlorine in green/yellow and found in swimming pools (look: badge). Iodine crystals are shiny purple.
Non Metals

NON METALS

These atoms like to share & gain makeup electrons. They form acidic oxides, and diamonds (Look: Earrings & necklace)
Transition Metals

TRANSITION METALS

These atoms are hard and have a metallic luster. Gold and silver are often used in making computer parts.
Actinides

ACTINIDES

Highly electropositive, these atoms have no trouble attracting others. They spontaneously ignite, making them great for creating energy in nuclear power plants.
